IFR Architecture is a full service architectural design firm based in Berkeley, California. Our approach relies on a depth of formal training coupled with extensive practical experience in the fields of architecture and construction to produce elegant, creative and unorthodox solutions which are also realizable and grounded.
The firm is led by principal architect Ian F. Ream. Mr. Ream graduated with High Honors in Architecture from The University of California at Berkeley and later earned a Master’s degree in Architecture from UCLA. While at UCLA Mr. Ream worked and studied with numerous renowned professors including Pritzker Prize winner Thom Mayne of Morphosis, Mark Mack, Michael Speaks, Dagmar Richter, Sylvia Lavin, Olivier Touraine and Jason Payne. Mr. Ream is a California licensed architect, LEED AP, and California licensed general contractor. He leads every project with in-depth, personalized attention.
